Waiting ~ the time between finding out something could be wrong and getting answers. The long, drawn out time that can drain your spirit.

We all go through times where we have to wait. We can let it crush our spirit and let worry and doubt overwhelm us or we can look to the One that is in control ~ our loving Heavenly Father.

Lately, I have watched loved ones wait and then get the news that they prayed not to get. I have watched them take on cancer and health problems. They have endured the kind of news that could make someone angry and bitter, but they have done the opposite.

They have a strong relationship with our Father, they know who is in control, and they let His light shine through them.

Now I am waiting. Waiting for more x-rays and answers. Worrying about the possibilities has been creeping in, but I am fighting back with God’s Word. I know that no matter what comes along in this life, I can get through it. My faith is strong and my Hope is in Him.

So no matter what comes your way ~ either in the waiting or in the answers ~ take a deep breath, relax, and give it all to Him. He loves us and will never leave us.

See, I am doing a new thing…running!


Hello Friends! I want to share something new I am doing…running. I am actually training to run in a 5K. I was proud of myself that I completed a 5K earlier in the year. I ran a little, but mostly walked it.

Those of you who have known me for years know that I have never been a runner. I never had the desire to be a runner. Actually, never thought I could be a runner.

I have joined a group called Know Mercy. We meet each week for a devotion, fellowship, and to run. We also have a running/workout calendar that helps us train during the week. I have to be honest. I almost didn’t go to the first meeting last week. I almost let the devil convince me that I had no business being there and there was no way I could do this. I am so glad I didn’t listen! I had such a good time with the group and was able to complete the run that night. My whole attitude changed that night.

Even though last week was super busy, I was able to run two more times. I made the time to do it and I can tell you I wouldn’t have if I had not been a part of this group.

One of the reasons I have never had the desire to run is because of my flat feet and my knees. I didn’t think I was physically able to do it. My husband helped me with that yesterday. He took me to a store that evaluated my feet and how I run and I found the perfect running shoe for me. I had no idea how much science goes into creating running shoes. I also had no idea how much they cost! It was very hard for me to spend the money for shoes but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I love that my hubby is being so supportive of this. I just wish he would do it with me.

A few years ago I would have let this opportunity pass me by. I would have given so many excuses. I feel like God has led me to this place though. I can look back and see that I found AdvoCare for a reason…to lose weight and feel like a new person, to make new friendships, and to reconnect with old friends. I am now more open to new experiences and pray that God will use all of this in some way for His glory.

Getting and Staying Healthy

Being busy can wreak havoc on your goals for nutrition and exercise! Have you been there too?

I love routine and that is very hard for me because my life is anything but routine. Our three kids keep us going. Don’t get me wrong. I love that they are active but it just makes it hard for me to eat right and exercise.

If you read some of my early posts, you know that I lost 37 pounds last year. The best part though was that I lost 5 inches in my waist and 5 inches in my hips. That changed my life! I looked better, but most importantly I felt better and was healthier. I am very proud that I was able to run my first 5K this year!

I have to be honest and tell  you that lately I have been eating a lot more things I shouldn’t…I haven’t exercised much…and I haven’t been taking my products like I should. My busy life has gotten the best of me.

I have noticed over the past few weeks that I am a little thicker in the middle and I don’t feel as good. I do still drink my Spark every morning…couldn’t function without it…but I now realize what a big difference the other products made too.

I have decided to get back on track and not let all of my work go to waste. Here is what I plan to do…
I am going to start with a cleanse next week.
I am going to start taking my products every day.
I am going to start planning our meals again.
I am going to exercise at least three times a week. (The Can You 24? DVD makes that a little easier.)

Balance in your life…is this even possible?


Are you like me? I have my faith, family, friends, work, health, and dreams. I have a lot going on in my life and only 24 hours a day to do it. Is it really possible to balance all of this?

I couldn’t believe how many books and articles there are on finding balance. After reading several articles, I feel like the term work-life balance is something that our society has created so we believe we can have it all without sacrificing anything. The truth is that every decision we make has a consequence. When we try to achieve balance, we just end up feeling frustrated or like a failure. I don’t know about you but that’s not what I am striving for.

I want love and happiness in my life. I want to grow and learn. I want to be a good and faithful servant while I am here. You too? So we are not looking for balance in our lives, we are looking for peace and joy.

How do we start? We need to look at what really matters in our lives.

What brings you joy? What is your definition of success? These are two important questions to ask yourself as you give up the struggle to be balanced. Setting priorities and goals will also help you find the time for the things that are really important to you.

I have decided to take charge and change the way I go through life. I am tired of feeling guilty because I can’t do everything. I want to focus on what is really important.
